Background
The project ‘Breaking & Entering? Explore how science and society relate’ is based at the Department of Media, Cognition, and Communication at the University of Copenhagen. A group of researchers from communication, design, IT, synthetic biology, philosophy, social sciences and organisation have worked together to create this physical and digital installation, which aims to invite visitors to participate in the debate on the social responsibility of science.
The installation could not have been created without cooperation between different forms of knowledge. It is typical for modern research and communication to collaborate across fields of study. This requires curiosity and openness towards different perspectives – in this case, we have all learned a lot during the project. Debate about the social responsibility of science has been an integral part of the development of this installation.
